  • Module 1: Foundations of Lactation and Child Nutrition for family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) childcare providers – 2 hours, Provides required training for breastfeeding-friendly certification in Colorado.
  • Module 2: Infant Mental Health for Community Work – 2 hours of training in the basics of infant mental health and support to strengthen parent-child relationships. The audience is family, friends, neighbors (FFN) childcare providers, community leaders, home visitors, families, and other participants.
  • Module 3: Community Preparedness – 2 hours of training on community preparedness in emergencies. The audience is family, friends, neighbors (FFN) childcare providers, community leaders, home visitors, families, and others.
  • Module 4: Safe Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies – 2 hours on considerations to care for families with young children in cases of emergencies. The topics include nutrition, mental health, safe handling, and storage of human milk in emergencies. The audience is family, friends, neighbors (FFN) childcare providers, community leaders, home visitors, and families.

Lactation Trainings and Professional Development

  • Monthly Study Sessions – 1 hour session every month to review lactation and breastfeeding topics applied to day-to-day situations. Virtual and free. Recognized with 1 CERP per session.
  • Cuenta Conmigo Community Lactation Training – 16 hours of training on foundations of breastfeeding and lactation. The audience for this training is community leaders, childcare providers, or parents who would like to gain more information to support others in their communities. The session for 2023 is closed. We will post updates when we offer the course again.
  • Community Lactation Access Project – Lactation Management Course – 55 hours of clinical training in lactation and breastfeeding. This intense training covers all lactation education topics required for Certified Lactation Consultants Certification. The audience for this training is those who interact with families in a clinical or community health setting, such as doulas, home visitors, peer counselors, and others. The session for 2023 is closed. We will post updates when we offer the course again.
  • CLC Preparation Series – Serie virtual de 12 semanas para personas que hayan tomado CLAP en que revisaremos el contenido del examen, responderemos o clarificamos preguntas, y practicaremos preguntas del examen. Participantes en Colorado recibirán una beca para aplicar y tomar el exámen en Mayo del 2024.
