Cuenta Conmigo Coop is a community cooperative focused on maternal and child health that supports and strengthens families, communities and organizations to achieve health and well-being for all.
We started as a community group in 2019. Through a partnership with Jefferson County Public Health – Maternal Child Health team and the support of Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition, Cuenta Conmigo emerged from the questions and interest of community members, particularly Latina family, friend, and neighbor childcare providers, interested in supporting families to breastfeed their babies. After a massive response to de COVID pandemic in which we needed to refocus our attention, in 2022, Cuenta Conmigo joined the Worker Incubator Project with Edgewater Collective. In July 2023, Cuenta Conmigo Cooperative became an official cooperative business upholding the values of equity, collaboration, and community.
Our activities:
- We provide FREE one-on-one services for families seeking support and connection.
- We host free community groups and events (in person or virtual).
- We offer trainings to support child development, breastfeeding, and community emergency preparedness to community members, groups, and childcare providers.
- We host a maternal child health leadership program for community members looking to open pathways in the maternal child health and early education fields.
- We develop lactation, nutrition, navigation, and mental health messaging and curricula adapted to the interests and needs of the Latino community.
- We offer consulting services for organizations, including research and data analysis to inform programming and support families effectively.
Cuenta Conmigo Coop is a member of the United States Breastfeeding Committee, a recognized breastfeeding peer-program by the International Board of Lactation Consultants Examiners. Our lactation counselors are Certified Breastfeeding Specialists and Infant Mental Health Endorsed
